About ACRDN

The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) is an inter-governmental association of cotton producing, consuming and trading countries which acts as the international commodity body for cotton and cotton textiles. During the regional consultation meet on “insecticide resistance management in cotton” at the Central Cotton Research Institute in Multan, Pakistan, the ICAC decided to establish the Asian Cotton Research and Development Network (ACRDN) in 1999, with involvement of delegates from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, China (Mainland), India, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. The main aim of ACRDN is to foster the regional cooperation in the cotton research among the Asian nations. Till date, eight network meetings have been held in Pakistan (1999), Uzbekistan (2002), India (2005), China (2008), Pakistan (2011), Bangladesh (2014), India (2017), and Uzbekistan (2019). There were several fruitful recommendations from these several meetings
